‘Bob’s Burgers’ Cast List and Guest Stars

0

The cast of “Bob’s Burgers” includes incredibly talented actors and comedians, most of which you’ve never heard of — until now! Throw in the A-list guest stars and you have a cartoon that should rack up more awards than Bob’s “A Swift Kick in the Nutmeg” burger.

H. Jon Benjamin (Bob Belcher)

Born in Worcester, Massachusetts, H. Jon Benjamin has garnered an extensive list of credits as a writer, producer, and actor in some of television’s most entertaining series. He currently voices the title character on “Bob’s Burgers” and gives voice to Sterling Archer on the animated cable hit, which earned him an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Voice-Over Performance. He also produced and starred in the sketch comedy show “Jon Benjamin Has a Van”. His previous voice credits include Ben on Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist, Tuck on “Freak Show” and Coach McGuirk on “Home Movies”, where he worked with “Bob’s Burgers” creator Loren Bouchard.

Kristen Schaal (Louise)

Kristen Schaal starred in the cult hit “Flight of The Conchords“, and was the women’s issues correspondent for “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart”. She also has a recurring role on “30 Rock”. Other film and television credits include “Toy Story 3”, “Dinner for Schmucks” and “Modern Family”. As a stand-up comedian, Schaal won the award for Best Alternative Comic at the 2006 United States Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen and is the recipient of the second annual Andy Kaufman Award, hosted by the New York Comedy Festival. Additionally, she was a Pierre Award nominee at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. In October of 2005, she was included in New York magazine’s “Ten Funniest New Yorkers You’ve Never Heard Of.” She has recorded two TV specials, “Comedy Central Presents: Kristen Schaal” and “Kristen Schaal: Live at the Fillmore”. She co-authored a sex guide, “The Sexy Book of Sexy Sex“, with fiancé and “Daily Show” writer Rich Blomquist.

John Roberts (Linda)

Bob’s wife, Linda, is played by a man. And John Roberts’ nasal interpretation of a woman is laughable, in a good way. John Roberts quickly gained attention with his first viral video, “The Christmas Tree”, which was nominated for a Broadband Emmy Award. The follow-up, “Jackie & Debra”, was honored by The Comedy Smalls, and both videos have generated more than 10 million views online. In April 2009, Roberts debuted his one-man show, “Jersey Days”. He has toured with Margaret Cho on two national tours and has appeared multiple times on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon”.

John Roberts was nominated for an Emmy award in 2015 for Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance.

Dan Mintz (Tina)

Another female Belcher, namely Tina, is played by a man. Dan Mintz has perfected her nervous groan and lends a sensational deadpan delivery to Tina. Originally from Anchorage, Alaska, Mintz started his stand-up career in Boston and went on to appear on shows such as “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” and “Comedy Central Presents: Dan Mintz”.

Eugene Mirman (Gene)

Born in Russia, Eugene Mirman moved to the U.S. as a child and attended Hampshire College. Mirman is a comedian, writer, and filmmaker, who is known for playing comedian/mobster Yvgeny Mirminsky on the cable comedy series “Delocated”. You know him as Dr. Eugene Mirman on “Aqua Teen Hunger Force” and Eugene the landlord on “Flight of the Conchords”. (Notice a trend with his character names?) Mirman also had his own half-hour special on cable, and in 2009 was named Best New York City Comedian by the Village Voice.

Jay Johnston (Jimmy Pesto)

Jay Johnston has worked with some of the funniest people in Hollywood. For good reason, since he is equal to their company. He has appeared in “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy”, “Arrested Development”, “Reno 911!”, “The Sarah Silverman Program” (see below), “Mary Shelley’s Frankenhole” and voices Coach Stopframe on Moral Orel.

Kevin Kline (Mr. Fischoeder)

Sure, he won an Oscar in 1989 for Best Actor in a Supporting Role “A Fish Called Wanda“, but playing Bob’s landlord on “Bob’s Burgers” has to be much more satisfying. Kevin Kline has had a long and successful career in Hollywood. Some of his best films are “Sophie’s Choice”, “The Big Chill”, “Soapdish”, “The Ice Storm”, “In and Out” and “A Prairie Home Companion”.

Laura and Sarah Silverman (Andy and Ollie Pesto)

How genius is it to cast two hilarious sisters in the role of two goofy twin boys? Sarah Silverman is a famous comedian who has starred in “Wreck-It Ralph”, “School of Rock” and her own TV show on Comedy Central. Her sister, Laura Silverman, also appeared in Sarah’s TV show, plus “Nurse Jackie” and “The Comeback”.

Larry Murphy (Teddy)

Larry Murphy starred as the title character in Adult Swim’s “Assy McGee”. He has also played Lt. Francis Grimes on “Ugly Americans” and Jay on “Delocated”.

Andy Kindler (Mort)

Andy Kindler is probably best remembered for his role as Andy on “Everybody Loves Raymond”. He also played Chancellor Tootietootie on “Wizards of Waverly Place” on the Disney Channel. Andy is no stranger to Loren Bouchard cartoons; he played Arnold Lindenson on “Home Movies”.

David Herman (Mr. Frond)

David Herman, who voices the guidance counselor on “Bob’s Burgers”, plays a character on nearly every cartoon made for grown-ups. He is Steve Williams on “Brickleberry”, Scruffy on “Futurama”, the Chinese Masseur on “Beavis and Butthead”, Buckley on “King of the Hill”, Ubuntu on the short-lived “The Goode Family” and Officer Papermouth on “Morel Orel”. He’s most famous, however, for playing Michael Bolton in Mike Judge’s “Office Space”. (You’ll notice Mike Judge must like Herman since he cast him in “Beavis and Butt-Head”, as well as “King of the Hill”.)
